not much has changed, honestly! xavier (and marron, for that matter) were both abused by their parents physically/mentally, and mallory as well (except mallory did sexually abuse them both). marron and xavier handle their traumas in different ways!

on that note, i must derail...marron will go, "oh it wasn't as bad for me" (when in actuality it was just as bad- if not worse!). i think that like me, they've developed ocd- a lot of intrusive thoughts pertaining to the abuse, berating themselves etc. freezing up and dissociating when it gets rly bad. sometimes xavier or caleb or arawn migut find em just. staring. somewhere. (i always have a hard time portraying marron's side of the trauma, but with my recent mental health spirals its been easier to write haha)

whereas xavier's way of coping is very evident and external; acting out, putting himself in dangerous situations, hurting himself n breaking things, etc etc! i like to think he's also developed bpd due to intense trauma. he ACTS on those intrusive thoughts of his because he craves the pain. its the only way he knows pleasure.

the truth is, marron and xavier's trauma is very heavily based on my own. xavier is the way he is because unlike marron, his ways of coping are more external than internal. they're both hot messes!

marron likes to think of themself as a housewife! upkeeping their townhome and getting chores done while caleb and arawn work jobs. they also do the groceries, help with appointments for the others, so on and so forth. when they aren't working on house stuff, they like to draw, make music and bake!

xavier, on the other hand, makes his own money by selling himself online; either through camboy footage or photos of himself. he likes to hurt himself live on dark-web esque streams; he tries not to go too far, but sometimes he really can't help himself...
